Spring is in the air. I can see, hear, feel, and smell it!
The rain is in full effect and Mother Earth is waking up all around us.
With the colder weather in winter, our bodies tend to freeze up a bit and things move a lot slower, which means we tend to shed toxins at a much slower pace.
This transition into spring is a perfect time to actively (manually) begin waking your body up and remind your body that it’s okay to let go of some of those stored toxins.
Spring cleansing is meant to re-invigorate your physical, mental, and spiritual health. It’s helpful for keeping your body and mind current with the seasons. I like to think of it as shaking up and waking up my body – giving myself a little “tune-up” so I can harness the energy to stay in the flow with the life-bringing season that is upon us.

This upcoming class is focused on spring cleansing, and will be from May 15th – June 12th. I am focusing on gut health this year, so expect many nuggets of belly-wisdom with the upcoming class this spring!
There are so many new energies that are accessible with the change of seasons, especially with the current shift from winter to spring. As we sync with the seasonal flow of our environments, spring cleansing allows an exciting opportunity to do some deeper detoxification.
The overall theme is about shaking our sleepy bodies awake and giving birth to new ideas, projects, and even bringing new insights into our work and our relationships.
It is the perfect time to get really real about giving yourself the extra love you deserve – nutritionally, emotionally and spiritually. Upping your nutrient stores while at the same time prompting your body to dump toxins helps get you on a good track for healing and regeneration of your precious body as we enter into the life-promoting seasons of spring and summer.
Conscious cleansing gives you an opportunity to explore your health and healing more fully, and in a way that supports your aliveness and vibrance.

The Basic Components of a Cleansing Program
The whole basis for doing a cleanse is to refresh your body, mind and spirit. It is to renew and re-invigorate your natural healing capabilities.
“Out with the old, in with the new” as the old adage goes.
Cleansing enhances your body’s ability to detoxify naturally. The good news is – it only takes a few small “ingredients” to reap the incredible benefits of cleansing.
Here are the basic components of an effective holistic cleansing program:
- Clean Nutrition
- Exercise & Movement
- Circulation and Detoxification Therapies
- Relaxation Techniques
A thorough cleanse incorporates each of these components on a daily basis and should last for anywhere from 5-30 days. As with anything, the more time you dedicate to your cleansing program, the greater benefits you will receive in your process.
Your body needs clean fuel. Taking the time to prepare nutrient-dense meals at home, with real food, is the best way to ensure you’re getting all the nutrients your body requires to safely and effectively flush out old toxins.
Your body needs these life-supporting building blocks of quality nutrition to regenerate and repair damaged cells. This spring I will be focusing on meals, supplements, and essential oils that promote gut-health, safe and effective liver detoxification, and lymphatic drainage.
EXERCISE & MOVEMENT
Gentle movement each and everyday is important. Activities that cause you to sweat are even better. And don’t worry! This does not necessarily mean that you need to bust your butt in the gym. There are plenty of yoga and gentle movement classes that will have you working up a sweat!
Movement simply put, shakes stored toxins free and helps to manually move them out of the body.
Movement may already be built into your routine, but for some of you, you may need to put that yoga class on the calendar, or wake up a half hour early to enjoy a long morning walk with your dog. Whatever your favorite form of movement, including it in your cleansing routine is important to keep your body refreshed and energized.
CIRCULATION & DETOXIFICATION THERAPIES
There are many detoxification techniques that have been around for centuries. Things like dry brushing, oil pulling, and colonics are time-tested and ancestor-approved!
This year I will be showing you some awesome belly-love detoxification therapies to bring more blood-flow to your digestive system and promote the flushing of toxins more effectively.
All of the detoxification therapies I teach are greatly therapeutic. They help to improve your circulation, increase blood flow to areas that need to be healed, and assist in pushing things out of your body that you no longer need.
Another super important part of doing a cleanse is to take time to relax.
Practice some breathing techniques, take time to meditate, listen to some soothing music – and just listen to it – while doing nothing else.
It is important with our busy schedules and butt-busting routines, to remind our bodies to slow down and relax. We have to allow ourselves to enter into a purely relaxed state to be able to release all those built up toxins, emotions, and thought patterns.
This may seem like a long list but it really doesn’t have to take more than an hour or so out of your day – and your body will seriously thank you for it! Think about how vibrant the world would be if every human being spent at least an hour every day to focus on improving their health through these life-giving activities.
THE KEY TO SUCCESSFUL CLEANSING: Planning ahead and scheduling these practices on your calendar is a great way to accomplish a thorough and successful cleanse. I walk you through this in detail in the first week of class!
